It's still unclear if it reaches 1080p or settles with 900p

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that the new first-person shooter has a higher native resolution on the Xbox One than last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts, which ran at just 720p.

Advanced Warfare promises to usher in a new era for the shooter franchise published by Activision, as Sledgehammer Games was given three years to develop an all-new experience set in the future that took the core principles of the series and added plenty of fresh mechanics.

In terms of visuals, the game will once again emphasize its 60fps framerate over resolution, but Sledgehammer's Michael Condrey has confirmed on Twitter that the native resolution of Advanced Warfare on the Xbox One will be higher than the one seen in last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Ghosts, which was made by series founder Infinity Ward, ran at just 720p resolution on the Xbox One, with the studio motivating its decision as the only way to ensure the smooth 60fps framerate.

Condrey didn't go into details, so it's unclear if Advanced Warfare can reach the full HD standard of 1080p, or if it will settle with 900p or another such resolution.

Advanced Warfare launches this November for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
