Microsoft kicked off the E3 2014 press event with a live gameplay demonstration of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox One, showing off the next-gen first-person shooter in all its glory.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was revealed to the world back in May, but Activision and Sledgehammer Games declined to offer that many details about the new first-person shooter, besides the fact that it will take place in the future of 2054 and that it will be filled with plenty of high-tech gadgets like exosuits, hoverbikes, and more.

Now, at Microsoft's E3 2014 press event, Sledgehammer Games organized a live gameplay demonstration that showcased a level from the new game.

Players take control of Mitchell, a former U.S. Marine that now works for a Private Military Corporation led by Jonathan Irons, who's played by actor Kevin Spacey.

The demonstration showcased some of the high-tech weapons and gadgets from Advanced Warfare, not to mention the gritty future that hosts the story in the new game.

The story, judging by the demonstration, will have a much bigger role in the new game, with quite a few intense moments.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches on November 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as on PS3 and Xbox 360.
