Video game developer Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that it is offering double experience for all those who are playing Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare during the current weekend, allowing those who spent Thanksgiving with their family to now test their skills in multiplayer matches against their friends and enemies.

The announcement comes from the official Twitter account of the company and the period will end on Monday at 1 AM Pacific Time.

The weekend allows gamers to push their characters forward faster than normal and will make the shooter more attractive in the crucial shopping period that start just after Black Friday and runs until Christmas.

The double XP period for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was rumored in an e-mail that got leaked yesterday, but at the moment there is no info from Activision whether it also plans to implement the 20 dollars (15 Euro) price cut that was supposed to be offered in a number of stores in order to make the title more attractive.

Activision has already announced that its flagship release has already become the best selling title of the year but it has not yet offered any details on the amount of copies that were actually sold.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare might increase its totals in the coming month as the development team is getting ready to deliver the Havoc DLC pack in early 2015.
