The community has always been able to enhance the game

Marcin Iwinski, one of the leaders of the CD Projekt studio, says that there’s no need to add multiplayer to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt because the community has the skills required to create more content for the game once the REDkit modding suite is launched.

The developer is quoted by IGN as saying that, “It's a single-player experience all the way, but we are looking to release the REDkit sometime after the game launches for the modding community. This way, people can create their own adventures, and this will inevitably add a lot of fun and replayability to the game.”

It’s also possible that CD Projekt will launch an Enhanced version of the game, as it did for the first two installments in the series, improving game mechanics and adding more content.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be out on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC during the second quarter of the year.
