The development team at CD Projekt is announcing that its upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not have any Digital Rights Management solutions implemented regardless of the publisher that handles distribution in a particular territory.

Marcin Iwinski, the co-founder and CEO of the studio, states in an official blog post that, "It doesn’t matter if you choose to buy it on GOG.com and support us directly or buy the game in box format, you’ll still get the 100% DRM-free experience. And this goes for the whole world."

He says that his company has learned its lesson as far as DRM is concerned and wants to deliver the best possible experience for gamers.

On Steam, The Witcher 3 will use the protection system of the Valve digital distribution service.

The series has so far sold more than 6 million copies and its final chapter will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in spring 2014.
