Different designs can be used in single player and Players versus Player

Tyson Green, one of the leading developers working on Destiny, says that Bungie wants players to experiment with weapons and create unique items that can be used for specific situations.

He tells Game Informer that, “You can absolutely have more than one weapon that you’ve configured differently. Like you have one sniper rifle which is really good in competitive multiplayer because it has high burst damage and a good precision damage modifier.”

The developer explains that the same weapon can also be tweaked in order to work better in a cooperative campaign as long as the player makes another set of modifications.

In Destiny, all weapons and armor are leveling up as the player uses them in battle, both cooperative and competitive, and players can choose who they evolve in the long term.

The title will be launched on current and next-gen devices on September 8, 2014.
