The development team at Bungie says that it is currently not working on any sort of comic book or television-based content linked to its upcoming Destiny, but that it would not object if other companies entered into a partnership to create them.

Pete Parsons, the chief operation officer at the studio, tells GamesIndustry.biz that “If they happen in a way that's exciting and helps propel the universe forward, I think that's great. But it's not the ambition and it's not something we set out to do.”

The executive says that his team is trying to create an universe that’s immersive and attractive for players and that can serve as backdrop for the unique mechanics of Destiny.

Parsons also says that Bungie never aimed to create comic books and other content for Halo, but the success of the franchise led to their development.

Destiny is set to arrive in 2014 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and current-gen consoles.
