The development team at Double Fine announces that the orchestral score of its upcoming Broken Age is being created by the award winning Peter McConnell, who has previously worked on other titles like Brutal Legend and Psychonauts.

The composer is best known for his work on classic LucasArts adventure games Grim Fandango and Monkey Island.

Double Fine leader Tim Shafer states, “There are several points in this score that make the hair stand up on my neck. Also the hair on my back. And those weird little patches of hair on my upper arms that look like sheriff badges. Anyway, it's an amazing soundtrack.”

The score for Broken Age is described as both narrative driven and playful and underlines the emotions that the two main characters, teenagers Vella Tartine and Shay Volta, are feeling during their adventures.

The game will be launched in two acts on Steam, with the first part coming on January 28.
