Developers 2K Australia and Gearbox Software have released a fresh video from the upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, showing off Claptrap's insane combat prowess.

The latest video shows that Claptrap is a machine of many talents, not merely confined to the role of comedic relief and wannabe idol of the entire universe, but also a veritable death machine.

The upcoming first-person shooter will follow the story of Handsome Jack's ascension to power, taking place on Pandora's moon. Players will be able to pick from Nisha the Lawbringer, Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer and Claptrap the Fragrap, all of them lean, mean killing machines, which is especially true in Claptrap's case.

All four protagonists played roles in previous Borderlands games and DLC, and this time around players will get to play with an expanded arsenal, as well as toy with brand new mechanics such as anti-gravity, freeze weapons, oxygen tanks which can double as jetpacks, and many other such contraptions.

The video tells that the four are Pandora's last hope, but they're far from being the good guys, and the storyline will show Handsome Jack's descent into villainy, explaining how he got to be the self-obsessed maniacal dictator that Borderlands 2 players have come to love and hate.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is slated for launch on October 14 in North America, October 16 in Australasia, and October 17 in Europe, coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Mac and Linux platforms.
