Developers Gearbox and 2K Australia and publisher 2K Games are delivering a new video for their upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, designed to give fans more information about the structure of the game and about its choice of location.

The footage includes some of the developers explaining what happened between the two core titles in the series and how they made the decision to explore the way Handsome Jack became a powerful villains.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will allow the player to choose from one of four new protagonists, who were previously featured as NPCs in the series, and then use their special abilities and unique weapons to explore the Moon of Pandora.

A range of new enemies will be offered, and the new title will include anti-gravity, sections where the player will have to rely on limited air supplies in order to get past dangerous areas and new freeze effects.

The development team has promised an experience that uses the classic mechanics of the series, but which also delivers some innovative elements.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be launched on the PC, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony on October 14 in the United States and three days later in Europe.
