The Borderlands 2 Loot Hunt that started in October is now officially over. The 2K Games sponsored “thank you” event sported $100K / €73K in prizes, in either cash or other physical and digital rewards.

The Borderlands 2 Loot Hunt statistics have been published, showing what players have been up to all this time, and it certainly seems like the community knows no rest.

Over 28 million guns were looted from the more than 516 million total enemies killed during the Loot Hunt, with the most hated opponents being the Anchormen, Torgue Thrashers and Buzzards. Each of them has been gunned down considerably more than what the initial goal was demanding of players.

Speaking of players and gunning, it appears that Axton won the popularity contest among the game’s playable characters, with a total of 29 percent of gamers favoring him. Psychic Vault Hunter Maya was a somewhat close second at 23 percent, with the others trailing along at a greater distance.

The big prize, amounting to half of the prize pool, was awarded to German gamer Christopher Kuehne. 2K’s Blog has the full list of winners as well as additional information on the subject.
