Long-standing cyberpunk and PC classics fans can now rejoice in a fit of nostalgia, as BloodNet has finally found a home on GOG.com.

BloodNet is a role-playing adventure game from Microprose that garnered a lot of attention from sci-fi fans when it was released, back in 1993. In a unique twist at the time, it also had vampires.

The game is set in the year 2094, when people have appropriately futuristic names like Ransom Stark. Stark is BloodNet's protagonist, a former corporate hacker who has been bitten by a vampire and is now out for revenge.

The Cyberspace meets the occult, as the brave vampire hacker takes on the streets of Manhattan, facing gangs of mercenaries, cyberpunks and – of course – vampires. The game offered a complex and innovative gameplay at the time, offering mature themes and a future noir atmosphere.

BloodNet also had a hard-to-tackle difficulty level, as is often the case of old DOS games.

The game is currently available on GOG, going for $6 / €4.5.
