Developer Cyanide and license holder Games Workshop announce that they are working on a new video game based on the Blood Bowl universe, called Star Coach, which will bring management mechanics to the fantasy-based American football series.

The game is designed to focus on tactics and will be offered under a free-to-play model.

Gamers will be able to choose races and types of players for their teams, and then create an offensive and defensive playbook before challenging other coaches to digital battles.

Patrick Pligersdorffer, chief executive officer at Cyanide, states, “Blood Bowl: Star Coach will interest both fans of football management as well as pure Blood Bowl enthusiasts. Players will encounter all the typical emotions and depth of play of a management game as well as the fun and originality specific to the Blood Bowl universe.”

Blood Bowl: Star Coach will be offered on the PC and on iOS-powered devices, and the game will support cross-platform play.
