The development team at Blizzard has been forced to deal with a decline of the player base for its MMO World of Warcraft, and it seems that one of the main reasons is that there’s no room left for revolutionary changes.

Tom Chilton, the lead game designer, tells PCGamesN that “The game has gotten older. We can only be evolutionary, we can’t really be revolutionary without betraying the existing playerbase.”

The fact that World of Warcraft has received so many expansions also means that players need to know its history and lore before making sense of current events, which is difficult for newcomers.

At the moment, there are about 7 million people still willing to pay in order to play the Blizzard MMO, which is more than for any other title in the genre.

At the moment, the studio is also working on a new game called Titan.
