Blizzard has confirmed that it's working with Microsoft to try and improve the resolution of Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition on the Xbox One from its current 900p to the PS4's 1080p native one.

Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition is set to debut this summer on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms. Like with most multi-platform experiences nowadays, fans care a lot about the performance of the title.

Blizzard mentioned that, while the framerate is the same on both the PS4 and the Xbox One, namely 60fps, the resolution is different. On the PS4, there's a native one of 1080p, while the Xbox One is stuck at a lower 900p resolution.

The studio has talked a bit with Ausgamers and revealed that it's trying to upgrade the Xbox One performance ahead of launch in order to achieve parity with the PS4.

"It’s possible," Blizzard's Julia Humphfreys said. "We’d just need to look at what that would require, and we’ve actually [talked to] Microsoft about that."

However, nothing is certain, so expect to hear more in the future about the release of Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition on consoles.

The new title from Blizzard is set to launch in August for current and last-gen platforms.
