Developer Daedalic Entertainment announces that it is working on a new video game called Blackguards, a turn-based role-playing experience that will be launched during the third quarter of the year.

The player will take on the role of a convicted murderer who needs to explore the south of Aventuria, followed by companions, including a wizard named Zurbaran and a half-elf Niam, a drug addict.

The game will include more than 180 unique battle maps which the player will have to fight and defeat in order to achieve quest objectives and acquire new items and experience.

Daedalic is best known for creating the Deponia series of adventure games and the focus of the company is on creating complex stories.

Blackguards will have a darker storyline than players are expecting from the studio, which will take about 40 hours to complete for those who follow all the narrative threads.
