Developer Camel 101, best known for Gemini Wars, announces that it is working on a new project called Black Talons, which will use classic squad-based tactical game mechanics.

The new game will allow players to command a number of mercenary squads that are tasked with taking down a government in a war ravaged system.

Gamers will have to select which units to take on missions with them, choosing between more flexible infantry and more powerful mechs, and the overall tactics that can tackle various types of enemies.

As Black Talons progresses, squads can be upgraded with new skills and equipment can be used to enhance their abilities.

Players will also have command of a battle cruiser that serves as a base and can also deliver tactical support.

The team has not yet said on which platforms Black Talons will be launched or when it will be out.
