BioShock Infinite’s first piece of story-based downloadable content, Burial at Sea, is designed to significantly change the character of main character Elizabeth, according to the leader of the development team at Irrational Games.

Ken Levine says that the first part of the story, which the gamer will experience from Booker’s perspective, will show the pair exploring Rapture and witnessing some momentous events linked to its downfall.

He tells the PlayStation Blog that, “She’s a different person, and having gone through the experiences of Burial At Sea: Episode One has a substantial effect on her too. So we’re spending a lot of time working on how she feels and how she plays.”

The second part of Burial at Sea will allow players to control Elizabeth and use her unique powers.

The DLC is set to arrive in late 2013 and early next year on the PC and current-gen consoles.
