Video game developer OOTP Developments announces that it is currently working on a new American football simulation called Beyond the Sideline Football, which is expected to offer a realistic take on the sport.

Launch is set to take place in 2014 and in about one year, some fans will be able to test out the core mechanics of the title.

The company says that all the teams will have real players and current rosters, and that the game engine will remain 2D in order to allow players a full range of tactical choices.

The simulation will support long-term league play, with gamers able to see entire teams crumble while others rise to replace them.

Beyond the Sideline Football will track about 50 stats for each player and the gamer will have complete freedom to draft players, trade them and make business decisions for his team.

OOTP Developments says that it will make the title entirely customizable and that online leagues will be supported.
