David Cage, the leader of the development team at Quantic Dream, reveals that part of the inspiration for his upcoming title Beyond: Two Souls is drawn from loss and death.

He tells VG247 that, “lost someone I felt close to, and I wanted to write something about that. It’s about changing, it’s about accepting who you are, it’s about confronting your fears. And it’s about what’s after death.”

The game will feature Ellen Page playing the role of Jodie Holmes, a teenager who is constantly accompanies by a ghostly presence.

Beyond: Two Souls will span 15 years of her life and players will need to explore the relationship and find its hidden meanings, with help from an extensive cast of characters.

The game will be launched exclusively on the PlayStation 3 and will be available on October 8.
