Beyond: Two Souls, the upcoming title from developer Quantic Dream and publisher Sony, has been rated R18+ by the Australian Classification Board.

The governmental organization says that the main reasons are the level of violence, the fact that some characters use drugs, and the use of some nudity.

Gamers are warned to be careful when picking up Beyond: Two Souls if they are easily offended.

The game is designed to follow a protagonist called Jodi, who has a spiritual connection with a supernatural entity called Aiden.

The story will follow the two characters over a span of 15 years, with players able to explore themes related to death, the afterlife, and the meaning of actions.

At least one section of the game will see Jodi serve in the military.

Beyond: Two Souls is set to launch on October 8 exclusively on the PlayStation 3 from Sony.
