Pete Hines, one of the vice presidents of publisher Bethesda in charge of marketing, says that the new Wolfenstein: The New Order is designed to offer more than a simple shooter experience, with some elements similar to those seen in Uncharted.

The executive tells IGN that, “But when you figure out what Wolfenstein is actually doing here, what it’s about and what they’re trying to bring to the table, I think there is something there for folks who say, ‘yeah, I want to shoot things, but I want some other stuff too’.”

Like Uncharted, the Naughty Dog title, Wolfenstein is designed to mix intense shooting experiences with slower moments when the player is simply interacting with other characters.

Bethesda has shown a sequence during E3 2013 in which Blaskowitz is involved in a tense moment with one of the main villains of Wolfenstein: The New Order.
