Teams need to work in order to deliver more content

Pete Hines, one of the vice presidents of publisher Bethesda, says that gamers need to understand why day one downloadable content exists and that many teams use it in order to occupy downtime before the launch of a high-profile title.

He tells The Official Xbox Magazine podcast that, “So, the content people stop making new content a fair amount of time before it ships; it’s not like in the old days when it was like the day before or a week before.”

Keeping the developers of titles like Skyrim is a better idea than firing some of them only to hire them back when the company has new content to deliver.

Oblivion has become famous for the way it sold horse armor to fans.

At the moment, Bethesda is working on The Elder Scrolls Online, which is supposed to arrive this year.
