Pete Hines, an executive at Bethesda, confirms that the company has a free-to-play video game in development at a new Austin-based studio, although he is not willing to offer details on the actual project.

The vice president who is handling marketing tells Eurogamer that, "We started a new studio out in Austin led by Rich Vogel called Battlecry, which is working on a free-to-play title, so we’re clearly not 'oh, it only needs to be premium priced triple-A stuff on a disc'."

It's unclear if the new game is linked to an already existing franchise or whether the Austin studio has the freedom to create its own universe.

Hines is also not ready to offer any sort of details on when the game might be launched or on what platforms.
