Bear Simulator is shaping up to become a beary real thing, not bearly scraping by but instead providing a bearitable full-fledged first bearson mauling experience. OK, enough.

Bear Simulator, the self-explanatory game that attempts to simulate the inextricable life of a bear, consisting mainly of sleeping, eating and mauling. Its creator describes it as a "mini Skyrim but you're a bear," but it's doubtful whether you'll be able to up your spell slinging game at the College of Winterhold.

We announced the Bear Simulator Kickstarter campaign last week, and it seems only natural that everyone was intrigued by the prospect of going around the forest and attempting to pull off some mean Smokey Bear role-playing action, advising random strangers that care will prevent 9 out of 10 forest fires.

The direct result of that is that the crowdfunding campaign waltzed past its initial $29k / €21k goal, so far managing to raise an impressive $42k / €30k in just under one week. The target was most likely meant to raise the necessary funds to start the one-man studio, but now it appears that things are getting serious.

Farjay Studios has also produced an in-game footage trailer from the current alpha, showing some of the early assets and gameplay elements, such as how your intelligence stat will allow you to discern between which berries to eat and which to offer to your enemies.
