The development team at DICE is preparing to take the Battlelog service for Battlefield 3 down for maintenance tomorrow at 12:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time, for a period of about three hours.

The announcement is made via the official Twitter account of the series and states, “[Battlelog Maintenance] Aug 3 12:00 AM PDT – 3:00 AM PDT Battlelog will be unavailable.”

DICE is not saying exactly why the service is taken offline for the three-hour period, but it might be linked to upgrades that need to be implemented before the launch of Battlefield 4. The new first-person shooter from the studio will be available to players on October 29 in North America and three days later in Europe on the PC and current-gen consoles.

The team is aiming to deliver an emotionally driven single-player experience and deep multiplayer with 64-player battles.
