Video game developer Visceral Games and publisher Electronic Arts continue to offer more details on the coming Battlefield Hardline experience despite the delay of the title and are taking advantage of the Gamescom 2014 event to talk about a new special mode for multiplayer, called Rescue.

The team explains that “You’re a SWAT operative tasked with saving innocent lives from the hands of criminals. Lead your team carefully into dangerous hoods and get the hostages back to safety. Watch your step - there are no second chances in this mode.”

Battlefield Hardline is using the Rescue mode to appeal to the hardcore eSports crowd by creating a fast and tense experience that can be quickly played in a competitive setting.

Riot shields will be featured in the new Battlefield Hardline mode in order to allow cops to get close to their enemies without getting hit.

Another mode that the two companies talked about is called Hotwire and allows players to organize into two squads in order to track down a number of vehicles while battling their enemies, with a focus on fast movement.

Battlefield Hardline will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 and gamers will be able to pick it up in 2015, with a new beta stage set to take place before launch.
