Visceral Games wants the game to perform well on both new consoles

Battlefield Hardline, the next installment in the first-person shooter series published by Electronic Arts, should have performance parity on the PS4 and Xbox One, meaning it will run at a native resolution of 1080p and a framerate of 60fps.

Battlefield 4 came out last year for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms and caused quite a debate after it was revealed that developer DICE was forced to lower the game's performance on Xbox One to a resolution of 900p and a 60fps framerate, as opposed to the PS4 edition that ran at 1080p and 60fps.

With Battlefield Hardline, new developer Visceral Games is targeting platform parity and wants to ensure that the shooter performs the same on both new consoles, meaning 1080p and 60fps.

"If you look at the games that Visceral Games has made before, we have always striven for total parity between our platforms," one of Visceral's staff told GamingBolt. "Of course, the PC version, it will do whatever your PC can handle, and the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will obviously not be as high res as compared to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. But those two [PS4 and Xbox One] should be locked in together."

Bear in mind that things could change until October, when Battlefield Hardline will be released for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
