Publisher Electronic Arts and developer Visceral Games have released a brand-new teaser trailer for the upcoming Battlefield Hardline, maybe one of the first such offerings that wasn't leaked ahead of time.

The teaser offers a sneak peek into the world of cops and robbers, a glimpse of the full-on action-packed trailer that is expected to land later today, during Electronic Arts' press conference.

The trailer released earlier this month shows an impressive level of visual detail, as do all the instances of leaked footage, setting Battlefield Hardline up to be the most ambitious iteration in the series yet, only this time focused on the war on crime instead of traditional military warfare.

Battlefield Hardline is expected to be released on October 21, a few weeks before the release of its main rival, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, another first-person shooter that aims to switch things up for the series it's part of by being set in the near future and actually having a coherent narrative.

Pre-orders for the urban tactical shooter are already available on the Origin store, and more information is to be revealed later today, during EA's press conference at this year's edition of the E3 convention, taking place in Los Angeles.
