Electronic Arts says that the entire launch preparation for Battlefield 4, including internal testing and the beta stage, showed that the game was ready to launch, which made it even harder to deal with the issues that the community soon started reporting.

The first-person shooter was in almost unplayable state for many gamers, but since then, developer DICE has delivered a lot of patches and updates that have fixed most of the problems that were reported.

Patrick Soderlund, executive vice president at EA Studios, is quoted by Gamasutra as saying that, “Based on our prelaunch testing and our beta performance, we were convinced it was ready.”

He also suggested that the complexities of launching on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC and current-gen consoles have affected the game and that DICE has learned a lesson from the experience, which will be incorporated in the creation of future titles.

DICE is set to run a Player Appreciation Month in order to thank fans who have bought and played Battlefield 4.
