The Wii U and PlayStation Vita are also doing better than expected

Battlefield 4, the first-person shooter from developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts, is the bestselling video game on the Japanese market during its launch week, with 110,458 copies delivered to fans.

On the hardware front, the 3DS handheld from Nintendo continues to lead the chart with sales of 74,255 units for the week that ended on November 10, which is a decline when compared to the over 86,000 registered during the previous tracked period.

NeoGAF cites figures showing that the PlayStation Vita has also registered a decrease in sales but managed to keep second place with 22,924.

The Wii U sells 14,060 units for the week and is followed by the PS3 and the PSP.

The rest of the video game chart includes: Pokemon X & Y, Monster Hunter 4, Akiba's Trip 2, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2013, Grand Theft Auto V, Wii Party U, Metal Max 4: Moonlight Diva, Akiba's Trip on the PS3 and Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2013 on the Vita.
