The development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts confirm that they are planning to launch Battlefield 4 on October 29 on the newly revealed Xbox One from Microsoft, but also on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the current generation of gaming consoles.

The team working on the new first-person shooter has not said whether it has plans to deliver exclusive content on any of the platforms.

Battlefield 4 will introduce the new Frostbite 3 engine and will aim to deliver a more emotional experience of war.

The game will compete directly with Call of Duty: Ghosts, the video game that is currently being created by Infinity Ward and Activision.

Both series will aim to capture the audience that will buy the new Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
