The development team at DICE working on Battlefield 4 announces that it is launching a 2XP event for all the players of the first-person shooter who have also subscribed to the Premium service, allowing them to level up faster for a 48-hour period.

The studio is delivering the information on its official Twitter account and says that all those interested need to log into the title as soon as possible in order to start playing with their friends and their rivals.

The event, which was not announced before it was implemented, is likely seen as a way of apologizing to the player community for the delay that was linked to the launch of the Naval Strike downloadable content pack.

It was originally delayed on the PC and the Xbox One, although players on the Microsoft next-gen platform can now get access to it.

The DLC delivers four new maps and allows gamers to experience the innovative Carrier Assault mode.

At the moment, DICE is continuing its work to balance and eliminate all remaining issues from Battlefield 4.

The studio is also developing two more DLC packs at its Los Angeles location, which should be launched in May and June.
