During a call with investors after the reveal of its most recent financial results, Andrew Wilson, the leader of Electronic Arts, characterized Battlefield 4 as a hit that was on the same level with Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14.

He is quoted by VG247 as saying that the game has already hit its sales targets for retail chains and that in the United States, launch day sales are solid, although Electronic Arts has not offered any sort of numbers.

Battlefield 4 is at the moment available for the PC and current-gen consoles and will only be launched on Friday in Europe.

The game also has versions for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

The first-person shooter uses an all new Frostbite 3 engine, with an innovative Levolution mechanic.

Electronic Arts has already revealed that the China Rising DLC pack for the game will be offered to Premium subscribers on December 3.
