Death kill ration will matter more than scores and team contribution

Lars Gustavsson, the creative director working on Battelfield 4, says that the hardcore fans who have followed the series since it was created will be able to find a lot of content to like in the new title.

He tells VG247 that, “even though we have score play and we now have Commander, it doesn’t mean that you have to play it that way. We have many modes where we don’t even have scores, or the focus on teamplay in that way. It’s you and only you, and only your kill-death ratio matters.”

A lot of the multiplayer of Battlefield 4 is now built around score play, where actions and team play are very important, and Commander Mode.

Both the features are designed to make the first person shooter more accessible and capture the attention of newcomers who might feel that they cannot ever become competitive.

Battlefield 4 is at the moment in an open beta stage and DICE is welcoming feedback.
