The development team at DICE is ready to announce an all new Community Mission for Battlefield 4, which is asking gamers to take to the skies in order to use powerful combat jets to take out at least 2 million vehicles in the coming week.

The official blog announcement states that "This community mission will take place across all platforms. This challenge starts Aug 5, 9AM PDT, and ends at Aug 11, 2AM PDT. If you reach the magic 2 million, we’ll award everyone with a Gold Battlepack."

Gamers can track how the Battlefield 4 community is doing with the new challenge by logging into the game then going to multiplayer and then to the missions tab.

At the moment, DICE is running a month-long event called Battlefest, which is designed to thank all the gamers who have remained loyal to the first-person shooter since it was launched, despite its initial problems.

Gamers can earn special rewards, including graphics cards that can be used to run the game.

At the moment, the studio is also working on Battlefield Hardline, which has been delayed into 2015 in order to allow the team working on it to improve both the single and the multiplayer mechanics.
