The development team at DICE announces that it is upgrading the beta stage of Battlefield 4 with a new Obliteration mode, giving players more options when it comes to their first-person shooter experience.

The company states via a Twitter message that, "New Obliteration mode is rolling out in the #BF4 Beta (PC/PS3/X360). Server availability will increase gradually."

Obliteration is an entirely new mode for the DICE title and allows 24 gamers to join in on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, while 32 can take part on the Xbox One, the PS4 and the PC.

In the mode, gamers will see a bomb appear on the map, which a team has to secure and then move to an objective that its enemies control. The final phase will require a team to protect the device until it is ready to detonate and take out an enemy position.

The process is repeated until one team losses all its objectives.

Battlefield 4 will be out on October 29 in North America and three days later in Europe.
