A new video has been posted by DICE and Electronic Arts, the two companies behind the upcoming Battlefield 3 shooter, introducing the various features of the Battlelog online service for the new title.

Battlefield 3 will be interconnected with the Battlelog service, allowing players to meet up and organize matches with their friends, track their activity as well as follow their own progress through the single-player campaign, as well as in the cooperative or competitive multiplayer ones.

Now, in order to properly showcase the special service, which is and will be completely free, as opposed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Call of Duty Elite, the two companies have posted a video introduction to Battlelog and its various features.

"An in-depth look at the features and functionality of the free social platform Battlelog. Battlelog will change the way you play, track your stats, and interact with your friends in Battlefield 3."

Check out the video above and get ready for Battlefield 3's release on October 25, in North America, and October 28, in Europe, for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
