Trinket Studios is looking to make an indie high-fantasy cooking competition game, titled Battle Chef Brigade.

Their aim is to capture the intensity of modern cooking competitions, adding a pinch of spellcasting, some dragon slaying and other fantasy role-playing elements.

“Right now the plan is to make Battle Chef Brigade a sort of 2D action game mixed with platforming and plenty of big, scary creatures to get ingredients from,” explained Tom Eastman, president of Trinket Studios.

Battle Chef Brigade's recipes are a blend of real-world ingredients and fantasy components, ranging from water and flour to unicorn horn shavings.

“We don't want people having to question why the judges didn't like their mom's lasagna recipe, or their grandma's apple pie. If you're dealing with new ingredients, then everyone is on the same page, whether you're a professional chef or just a kid. You're all learning this new world together,” Eastman concluded.

The team hopes to have a playable version of Battle Chef Brigade up and running for PAX East, in April.
