The final Batman title from developer Rocksteady, called Arkham Knight, will not offer any sort of multiplayer experience for gamers, despite the fact that this has been one of the main requests of the community since the original Arkham Asylum was launched.

Sefton Hill, the leading developer working on the title, says that the decision was made early in the development process.

He is quoted by VG247 as explaining that “We don’t have the time to do multiplayer. We want to focus on making the best single-player experience we can. We don’t feel that it needs a multiplayer element. Warner Bros. backed that up right at the start.”

Elements of Arkham Knight have been in development for more than two years, which should get fans excited about the quality of the single-player, which will pit the Dark Knight against a gallery of his most important foes, with Scarecrow leading the line.

The new Batman title will introduce the Batmobile to the game world, giving players more mobility to explore the streets of Gotham and get to flashpoints.

Arkham Knight will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony and it could be out on October 14 of this year.
