Batman: Arkham Knight, the next iteration in the Arkham series, has just received a set of leaked screenshots and character artwork showing quite a few different sequences from the game.

Batman has become a stellar video game protagonist ever since Rocksteady released Arkham Asylum many years ago. The British studio then followed up with the great Arkham City, and Warner Bros. Montreal took a stab at the series with last year's Arkham Origins.

For this year, Rocksteady is making a comeback with Batman: Arkham Knight, which was revealed to the world a few weeks ago.

Now, after seeing a brief cinematic trailer and a few polished images with the game, a series of screenshots has appeared, via NeoGAF.

As you can see above and in the gallery below, the images include quite a few gameplay sequences of Batman exploring and the new and enlarged Gotham City, but also feature the new Batmobile as well as the Caped Crusader in action.

A set of character artwork portraits has also been leaked, showing Batman, but also allies like Commissioner Gordon, Oracle, not to mention villains like The Riddler or The Penguin.

You can expect to hear and see much more of Batman: Arkham Knight as we get closer to its release in fall of 2014 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
