Publishers and developers will not be happy with early sales

The official Twitter account for retailer EB Games Australia has confirmed that the street date for Batman: Arkham Asylum has been broken by a number of its stores down under, making the continent the first place on Earth where players will be able to experience the new Dark Knight powered adventure.

The fact that the street date was broken will probably not be good news for publisher Warner Bros., and usually such breaches result in delays for future titles in the same markets.

Most publishers choose to put games out Down Under after they have already been released in North America and Europe.

Gamers in the United States gets the new Batman game tomorrow while those playing in Europe will have to wait another three days to play it.

At the moment Arkham City is playable on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony, with the PC version expected to arrive in November.
