Bloober Team has announced the delay of their upcoming PlayStation 4 game Basement Crawl into Q1 2014, in order to take full advantage of some newly-appeared opportunities.

Basement Crawl aims to bring the classic arcade fun of Bomberman back into the nimble hands of gamers, and its originally planned launch was this week. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, but the developers have assured gamers that it was not due to any development hiccups.

"While the completed version of Basement Crawl was prepped for launch during the last week, several exciting opportunities to partner with major industry players to enhance, refine and add-to the game arose," Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno declared, as quoted by Gematsu.

He further added that the difficult decision was made for the best of both the developer and Basement Crawl, as the new partnerships will allow them to "further grow and improve the game" in order to deliver an exciting multiplayer experience for PlayStation 4 owners.

A specific release date has not been announced, but more details have been promised in the weeks to come.
