Stoic Studio, the development team made up of developers that have previously worked at BioWare, has announced that it has ended the Kickstarter process for their first video game, The Banner Saga, and has managed to get the funds needed to port the experience to the Xbox Live Arcade service from Microsoft and to the PlayStation Network from Sony.

The Banner Saga is a turn-based strategy title that will challenge players to create their own armies and then defeat a number of enemy setups.

Stoic Studios is also promising that it will add player-owned cities to the multiplayer component of the game.

They are also looking into the possibility of porting the game to the PlayStation Vita, although no decision has been made.

The game was initially set to be launched before the end of 2012 although the new features might see it pushed back to next year.

The development team has managed to raise 723,886 dollars (548,814 Euro) from more than 20,000 backers.
