Tecmo Koei has released a brand-new video from their upcoming role-playing game Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, showing the game's battle system.

The video offers a glimpse into Gust's next Alchemists of Dusk game's combat mechanics, by showing a battle against an ordinary enemy, starring none other than one of the game's protagonists, Shallotte.

The clip shows Shallotte's baseball skills, as she sends a firebomb flying toward her enemy with her broom, after which Homura, a brand-new character to the series, jumps in and takes advantage of the opportunity for an assist attack.

After that, the poor, peaceful-looking pinata impersonator proceeds to get further beaten into a pulp, as everyone takes turns swatting him and punching him around. Wilbell uses a Dancing Sword, and after the other protagonist, Shallistera, joins in with an assist attack, Burst Mode activates.

After that the poor critter stands no chance, and so it just rolls over and dies, and everyone else happily levels up. Burst Mode is an integral part of Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea's combat system, allowing attackers to rapidly chain a series of devastating attacks.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is scheduled to come out for the PlayStation 3 home entertainment system on July 17, in Japan.
