Developer Gust and publisher Tecmo Koei have released a brand new video showcasing the battle system in the upcoming Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea.

The Japanese role-playing game is set to close the famed Atelier Dusk trilogy next month, and the new footage shows some of the main characters in action, using the revamped combat system.

Fans of Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk and Atelier Escha and Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky will no doubt feel familiar with the new setup, that is now focused on strategy and speed and no longer entails time management.

The game features two protagonists, Shallistera and Shallote, young girls who are trying to make sense of the world around them, struggling to survive through its death.

Each of the two characters features her own storyline, and the game has multiple endings in store for devoted players to discover.

The resource collection system has also benefited from some reworking, making everything much more dynamic, meaning that your actions when collecting reagents actually impact supply and demand, and the new quest system makes progression less linear.

Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is headed exclusively to the PlayStation 3 home console, expected out on March 10 in North America and March 13 in Europe. The game is already available in Japan, since July last year.
