Assassin's Creed Unity will feature a ton of character progression, with the skill trees divided into stealth, combat and navigation.

Ubisoft has been slowly introducing various role-playing game elements in their creations, with the latest instance of this being the expansive skill tree in the successfully open-world hacking adventure game Watch Dogs.

The presence of a skill tree allows for much replayability, as well as for players to customize their game experience and tailor it to their preferred play style, and with Assassin's Creed Unity being built for modern and powerful gaming hardware and allowing a never-before-seen level of freedom, as well as cooperative multiplayer in its campaign, the skill tree will prove to be instrumental in tackling its challenges.

"First of all, the skill tree will reinforce the way the player plays the game. The skills the player will choose will define the path and the style of the avatar. And if the player plays with friends, he will be able to choose complementary skills."

"If, for example, I am the stealth player, I will choose skills and equipment that will fit this mission. On the opposite, if your friend is specialized in combat, he will choose stronger weapons and armors. All in all, the player will be able to choose between three specialties: stealth, combat and navigation," Alex Amancio, the game's creative director, told GamingBolt.

Assassin's Creed Unity is headed to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on October 28, 2014.
