A rewrite of the script seems to be the main problem

Distributor Fox says that the much-awaited Assassin’s Creed movie has been pushed back to August 7 of 2015, a delay of two months over its original launch date, which suggests that the project might be dealing with some unforeseen problems.

The movie is based on the Ubisoft-published franchise of the same name and is being developed by the game company and by New Regency.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the script for the movie needs to be re-written, which might be the cause of the delay.

Well-known actor Michael Fassbender is the main producer and the leading actor associated with Assassin’s Creed.

Neither of the involved companies has offered any details about the story of the movie, but initial reports suggest that it will not be directly linked to that of the video games.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was launched this year on the PC and on current-gen consoles and will also get versions for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
