Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag was officially unveiled yesterday and now Ubisoft has started detailing some of the more specific features of the game, including the multiplayer that won't feature any competitive naval battles.

Assassin's Creed 4 is set to deliver a brand new story featuring a new protagonist, Edward Kenway, as well as a new historical setting of the early 1700s.

A multiplayer mode is also going to be included in the game, but Ubisoft has yet to say any specific things about it.

According to the game's Lead Content Manager, Carsten Myhill, more details will be revealed soon, but he confirmed that competitive naval battles won't be a part of Assassin's Creed 4's multiplayer mode.

"We're going to be communicating big on multiplayer in the coming weeks," he told CVG. "However, what I can say is that unfortunately we won't be doing naval multiplayer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag."

According to Myhill, Ubisoft wanted to focus specifically on the single-player campaign and its huge open world.
