The development team at Ubisoft working on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag says that all the modern day content of the coming game takes about five hours to complete and that most of its will be optional, for those gamers who want to focus on piracy in the Caribbean.

Ashraf Ismail, the game director, tells the official blog of the company that “For the main path – the stuff you’re required to do – it’s somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes. You leave the Animus five times during the game’s main path and each time you’re there for about three to four minutes.”

The modern day content will allow players to hack some computers in the Abstergo offices that offer information on what has happened to previous protagonist Desmond.

This content will also apparently include references to the video game industry and Ubisoft itself.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be launched in late October on current-gen consoles and the Wii U.
